Two Rare Historic Models (Radiomir and Luminor) Of Panerai Exhibited At The Exhibition
Panerai is the major partner of “O’Clock – Time Design, Design Time”, which is held in Milan Triennale Design Museum from October 11, 2011 to January 8, 2012.
Patricia Urquiola designs the collection named “I mondi di Officine Panerai” for the brand. And this new collection includes eight types of models and first appears at the exhibition of Trienanale. All the watches of this collection perfectly interpret Panerai’s unique and classic design. And it lies at the end of the hall; people can appreciate 8 models from October 11 to 23.
Panerai’s watches are carefully made with high-end technology and skilled crafts. Its entire watches surprise people. The designer Patricia Urquiola states that: just because of brand’s excellent watchmaking crafts, I try hard to highlight the unique design of new ideas, precise structure and superb craftsmanship. A unique device is installed for Panerai’s watches. The mini-world is the theme, and the time set at a selected moment.
If the concept of time has clearly contact with the senior watch, so does Panerai and design world. In the 1930s and 1940s century, Panerai designed Radiomir and Luminor for the Italian Navy frogmen commandos. Since these two watches launched in 1990, they had become the classical models of senior watchmaking industry. Over many years, Panerai still remains its original modern design and establishes classic status for its watches.
There are two rare historic models of Panerai at the exhibition. One is Radiomir launched in 1938, another is Luminor launched in 1940s century. These two models show their transformation process and reflect that Panerai’s watches still keep rare historic models’ style character. Actually, Luminor evolves from Radiomir, and its performance has been improved, such as its water resistance and its hour markers display. All the watches at the exhibition show brand’s design character: Radiomir and Luminor’s case has the essential lines; the watches have the big size case and clear markers, as well as the beautiful dials.
