In hard liquor emerging areas such as China and South Korea, in 2009 the sales volume of Hennessy is still very strong, however, at the same time, the overall sales of wine and liquor declined by 16% to 5.4 million Euros.
Although Cartier remains the world’s most valuable jewelry brand, its gloss gradually fades year by year. In comparison with 2008, Cartier’s ranking has dropped by three to the seventh place in the list. The financial crisis did have some influence to jewelry products especially the high-end jewelry.
The overall demand in champagne reduced and the retailers in Europe and the United States generally lessened their inventory levels. But Moet&Chandon still managed to keep itself the most distinguished champagne brand and the eighth luxury brand in the list.
Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director, is Fendi’s clothing designer as well. However, Fendi accessories are more famous than its garments. Frankly speaking, I am a little surprised that Fendi came as the ninth luxury brand in the list. Fendi IT bag was hit ago, but recently has launched few fabulous products including shoes and bags. Hence, Fendi almost came out of my mind.
Muccia Prada’s designs have been well received by luxury goods consumers. And I am not that surprised that Prada became one of the world’s top ten luxury brands.
