During the SIHH, Schaffhausen IWC invited nearly 1,000 guests and media experts to attend the press conference of the new Top Gun. Attending celebrities include t Cate Blanchett, Jean Reno, Ewan McGregor, Ronan Keating, Cherie Chung, Chilam Cheung, Boris Becker, Luís Figo, Zinédine Zidane, as well as the top model Adriana Lima. Before the end of the evening, Bryan Ferry brought melodious music and had an unforgettable night together with guests.

The evening party was presided over Georges Kern, the Chief Executive Officer of IWC said: “Tonight, we want to bring guests a unique and moving experience, and tell them the story of the Top Gun. The first Top Gun special edition watch was launched in 1936. Since then, it has become a symbol of Schaffhausen IWC. “During the evening, nearly 100 international journalists interviewed the grand occasion of the IWC celebrity friends and VIP appeared on the red carpet. Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett, Jean Reno, Ivan McGregor and the film director Marc Forster, sports champion Boris Becker, Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane were invited to the IWC “TOP GUN Naval Air Force” event. The famous singer Ronan Keating, the top model Adriana Lima and Tim Jef-feries also thoroughly explores the world of the Top Gun by this precious opportunity.

At that night, nearly 1,000 guests from around the world boarded the simulated aircraft carrier “IWC 12. The brand specially made this scene to present a new Top Gun watch. This theme also runs through the activities of the party. Actors Ewan McGregor, Rosamund Pike and Aloe Blacc were all amazed at the venue design.

This year, the layout of IWC at the SIHH is very prominent: one aircraft carrier prototype covers an area of 900 square meters, and configures the command center island, flight deck, steam catapults, hangars, flight controllers and pilots changing room. Half a century ago, Piaget senior watchmaking factory began the journey of developing the ultra-thin watch. In the beginning of 1957, Piaget created the 2mm thickness mechanical movement named 9P. Among the terms of the watch industry, 9P represents 9 ligne. The watch was equipped with 9P movement or the 12P automatic movement and launched in BaselWorld2011. In this year, Piaget launches the new ultra-thin Altiplano collection at SIHH. This new collection first appeared in 1998, and it was famous for compact case and simple dial. The new collection is committed to the original one’s characters and added Piaget’s jewelry making crafts. The new collection seems more noble and elegant than the original one.

IWC launches the Portofino collection at the beginning of the year. Portofino Fino is a beautiful harbor town of Ligurian coast. The people in this place live a leisure and casual life. In 1984, the first Portofino watch appeared. The watch came in 46mm diameter case with the function of moon phase display. It was equipped with thin caliber9521 movement. Since then, IWC gradually modified this collection but remained the simple and elegant style. The new Portofino automatic watch features a delicate dial. It came in modern style case with 40mm diameter. After being exquisite crafted and re-designed, the watch become much thinner. And the Portofino GMT watch’s strap is made by Italian high quality shoes manufacturer Santoni. The wearer can adjust the time-zone and the date through the crown.

In this year, Baume&Mercier launches two new watches: Linea collection and Capeland collection. These two watches integrate the coastal elements. Therefore, during the period of SIHH, Baume&Mercier holds a special beach party, and more than 900 guests take part in the grand party.
